Former Pro Wrestler Marc Mero Speaks at Ocean City Mayor's Prayer Breakfast

While Marc Mero spent years in the wrestling ring, he is now most comfortable on stage speaking to groups of all ages and backgrounds.  This week, Mero heads to Ocean City, Maryland to speak at the Mayor's Prayer Breakfast.

Five different Chamber of Commerce groups collaborated on the breakfast and arranged for him to come in and speak.  The event is being held at the Clarion Fountainebleau Hotel on Friday from 7-9 a.m. and individual tickets cost $20.

Mero will primarily speak about his faith, but also touch on other topics.  Since founding his Champions for Choices organization nine years ago, he has spoke at over 1,500 different events.

Champions of Choices mostly works with students promoting anti-bullying and healthy choices.  Mero has been outspoken about an array of issues since retiring from wrestling, including steroid use in the sport.

Mero competed in the World Wrestling Federation, World Championship Wrestling, and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling in addition to other smaller promotions.  He was a three-time winner of the WCW World Television Championship and also won the WWF Intercontinental Championship in 1996.

Mero originally debuted in the WCW in the early 1990s under the ring name Johnny B. Badd.  He played a full range of sports growing up and won a football state title in New York as a high school senior.
