American Soccer Icon Alexi Lalas Makes Orlando Appearance Ahead of World Cup Qualifier

Orlando, Florida is hosting the U.S. men's national soccer team all week as they prepare for their World Cup qualifier match against Panama. One Team USA legend from the past is also making an appearance in town to add some extra excitement.

Alexi Lalas is holding a meet and greet on Wednesday night on behalf of Volpi Foods. He will be at the Publix located at 5400 Hamlin Groves Trail in Winter Garden from 5:30-7 p.m.

Fans can come out to get photos and autographs from Lalas and talk soccer. Volpi Foods is the official protein of U.S. Soccer, making their event with the former American soccer star a great brand fit.

Lalas gained great notoriety after playing for the U.S. during the 1994 World Cup. That year, he also became the first American to play in Italy's Serie A.

Two years later, Lalas returned to the States to play in the inaugural Major League Soccer season. He played for the New England Revolution, MetroStars, Kansas City Wizards and Los Angeles Galaxy.

Lalas spent time as the general manager for the San Jose Earthquakes, New York Red Bulls and Galaxy. He is a member of the National Soccer Hall of Fame and currently serves as an analyst for Fox Sports.
