Armed Forces Bowl Names Pro Football Hall of Famer Tim Brown Speaker for Kickoff Luncheon

This time of the year, a host of events fill the calendars for communities who host college football bowl games. That is certainly the scene in Fort Worth, Texas each December for the Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl.

This year, Pro Football Hall of Fame wide receiver Tim Bown will speak at the Armed Forces Bowl Kickoff Luncheon. The event takes place on December 23rd at The Tailgate Outpost located in Lot 3 of Amon G. Carter Stadium. 

The game will follow the luncheon at 2:30 p.m. that day. A team from Conference USA will square off against Army in the contest. 

Brown was a nine-time Pro Bowler and three-time All-Pro during his 17-year career. He spent 16 seasons with the Raiders and racked up 14,934 receiving yards and 100 receiving touchdowns in his career. 

Brown holds Raiders records for career receptions and receiving yards. He was also a dangerous punt returner and is the team's all-time leader in punt return yardage. 

In addition to the Hall of Fame honor, Brown is also a member of the College Football Hall of Fame and the NFL 1990s All-Decade Team. He won the Heisman Trophy while at Notre Dame in 1987.
