Brazilian Soccer Star Neymar Leads Gillette's "Perfect Isn't Pretty" Olympics Ad Campaign

Gillette is rolling out an extensive ad campaign for this summer's Olympics that they hope features some of the Games' stars.  With Brazil serving as host nation, it made perfect sense that international soccer superstar Neymar would lead their roster.

Gilette bills itself as the "world's leading male grooming brand".  They are the first company to provide insight into their marketing plans for the Rio Olympics.

Neymar will be just one of the athletes featured in the "Perfect Isn't Pretty" commercials.  American decathlete Ashton Eaton, Chinese freestyle swimmer Ning Zetao, and British cyclist Andy Tennant will also be featured.

Gillette's parent company, Proctor & Gamble, originally named Neymar a Latin American brand ambassador last year.  This is a direct result of that sponsorship agreement.

It certainly highlights what a star Neymar is in soccer-crazed Brazil.  He currently serves as captain of the Brazilian national team in addition to his club duties with FC Barcelona.

With 46 goals through 70 appearances in his young career, Neymar already ranks fifth on the all-time Brazilian goal-scoring chart.  In the last Olympic go-around, he helped Brazil win a silver medal in 2012.

In 2014-15, his second season with Barcelona, Neymar led the club to a sweep of La Liga, Copa del Rey, and UEFA Champions League titles.  He has 21 goals in 28 fixtures so far in this current La Liga campaign as Barcelona sits atop the table yet again.
