Chicago Cubs Rookie Kyle Schwarber Signs New Era Endorsement Deal

As one of the breakout stars of baseball’s postseason, it is no surprise that Chicago Cubs’ rookie Kyle Schwarber has endorsement opportunities coming his way.  Last week, hat maker New Era signed Schwarber as a brand ambassador.

His deal with New Era will run through 2017.  Schwarber will be utilized in advertising material during the remainder of the playoffs.

New Era manufactures the official on-field hat of Major League Baseball.  As a result of their close partnership with the league, they have many endorsers from the world of baseball, including the Boston Red Sox’s David Ortiz.

Schwarber has been the instant offense the Cubs needed throughout the summer.  In 69 regular season games after his June call-up, he blasted 16 home runs and racked up 43 RBI.

While Chicago is currently down 0-2 to the Mets in the National League Championship Series, it has not been because of Schwarber.  The rookie has been a consistent force in the lineup throughout the playoffs, hitting .381 with four homers.

The Cubs made Schwarber the fourth overall pick out of Indiana University in the 2014 MLB Draft.  He quickly rose through the minor league system, making his big league debut just over a year after being selected.
