College Basketball Legend Mateen Cleaves Hosts a Series of Basketball Camps in Michigan

As one of Michigan State’s all-time greats, Mateen Cleaves still is revered in the state where he played college basketball.  That popularity allows Cleaves to bring his 1 Goal 1 Passion Summer Basketball Camp around Michigan.

The camp will start in Benton Harbor July 21-23, head to Grand Rapids from July 28-30, make a stop in Lansing August 4-6, and wrap up in Flint August 11-13.  Most importantly, registration is only $1, which allows campers from all backgrounds to attend.

Children from the ages of 8-12 will be instructed from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. each day while 13-17 year olds will be in the second session that runs from 1:00-4:00 p.m.  In addition to traditional basketball skills, campers will also learn valuable life lessons.

More information and registration can be found at www.1goal1passion.com

Cleaves is one of the greatest college basketball players of all time.  He was a two-time Big 10 Player of the Year and the only three-time All-American in Spartans history.

In 2000, Cleaves led MSU to the NCAA Championship and was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Final Four.  He left East Lansing with school records for assists and steals.

Cleaves went on to be a first round pick of the Detroit Pistons and play six NBA seasons.  In addition to his current work in the community, he also is a basketball analyst for CBS Sports Network, Sirius XM Radio, and Fox Sports Detroit.
