College Basketball Legend Mike Krzyzewski Gets Honored at Steiner Sports Event in New York

Steiner Sports is joining with various basketball dignitaries to honor the achievements of Duke basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski.  Thursday night at the Millenium Hotel’s Hudson Theatre in New York, Krzyzewski will be present at a reception and live discussion.

There are several packages available, but the most basic general admission offering starts at $100 and a $219 price includes a Krzyzewski signed 8X10.  The evening starts at 6:30 and the theatre is located at 144 W 44th Street.

Not many coaches will ever be as successful as the college basketball legend.  Krzyzewski is coming off of his fifth NCAA Tournament title at Duke.

His 1,018 wins are the most all-time.  In addition, Krzyzewski has racked up 12 Final Four appearances, 13 ACC Tournament Championships, and 12 ACC Regular Season Championships.

He has also gained great acclaim for his work as the head coach of the U.S. men’s basketball team and has two Olympic gold medals to show for it.  An impressive 13 individuals who have either played or coached with Krzyzewski have gone on to college head coaching jobs.

When he took over the Blue Devils for the 1980-81 season, not many people gave him much chance to become an all-time great coach.  That story of defying the odds is what makes Krzyzewski one of the all-time great influencers and speakers in sports.
