Cycling Icon Lance Armstrong Keynotes Tour of Flanders Business Academy This Spring

Even though he is years removed from competition, cycling icon Lance Armstrong is still perhaps the most well-known name from his sport. He is making a return to Europe this spring to speak at a special event.

Armstrong will be part of the festivities for the Ronde van Vlaanderen. He will speak at the inaugural Tour of Flanders Business Academy and be a guest of the race.

Armstrong should have some interesting remarks to share with the cycling enthusiasts. Further details about the event are set to be released later today.

From 1999-2005, Armstrong won a record seven consecutive Tour de France races. His story of overcoming an advanced form of metastatic testicular cancer to return to competition captivated the nation.

Prior to his cancer diagnosis in 1996, Armstrong was the 1993 World Champion in the elite men's road race. He was also an accomplished triathlete before beginning his professional cycling career in 1992.

Armstrong is well-known for the work he has done for cancer research through the Lance Armstrong Foundation and the sale of Livestrong bracelets. He won the Associated Press Male Athlete of the Year and the ESPY Award for Best Male Athlete each year from 2002-05.
