David Robinson Stars in New Pizza Hut Commercial

Retired NBA player David Robinson, also known as the “The Admiral” is returning to television screens to promote Pizza Hut in a commercial. This is related to the fact that it was 20 years ago this year that Robinson was not only having one of the best periods of his basketball career, but he also helped Pizza Hut launch their “Stuffed Crust Pizza” which was available back then. To celebrate the two decade benchmark of one of the most popular pizzas on the market, the company has also had Robinson come back to give the viewers a sense of nostalgia. Those who were basketball fans back in the day are sure to remember his participation with the brand and it is a brilliant strategic marketing move to include him in the Stuffed Crust’s anniversary.

The famed San Antonio Spurs center position is a two-time NBA champion and also played for his college institution, the United States Naval Academy. While playing for the Navy he was considered to be the best basketball player in the history of the school. In addition to that he is a two-time Olympic Gold Medal champion and a 10-time NBA All-Star Player. Robinson spent a good 14 years playing for the San Antonio Spurs before retiring, but he has plenty under his belt to celebrate.

Spurs fans will be delighted to see his face on television again in the commercial, which he apparently hints at his history with the pizza and the brand and stating that “he isn’t the only thing pizza brought back”, but they are honoring their original price of the pie for $9.99. Be sure to keep an eye out for Robinson on the tube this year!
