Denver Broncos Linebacker Brandon Marshall Gives Commencement Address at Alma Mater

After helping one of the NFL's all-time great defenses to Super Bowl glory, Denver Broncos linebacker Brandon Marshall is certainly seeing his profile raised this offseason.  That bigger spotlight allows him to give back as well.

The Las Vegas native is headed home this week to deliver the commencement address at his alma mater, Cimarron-Memorial High School.  The ceremony is being held from 3-5 p.m. on Thursday on the UNLV campus at the Thomas and Mack Center.

For those who cannot be in attendance, there will also be a live stream online of the proceedings.  This past May, Marshall had his jersey retired by the school.

Marshall has racked up back to back 100-tackle seasons for the Broncos.  In 2015, he was second on the team in tackles after leading the squad in 2014.

After spending his rookie season with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Marshall signed with Denver and worked his way up to becoming a starter.  He impressed while spending most of 2013 season on the practice squad and was elevated to the main roster for the final four games.

The Jacksonville Jaguars originally selected Marshall in the fifth round of the 2012 NFL Draft.  He played collegiately at Nevada, where he was a four-year starter.
