Donovan McNabb Makes Syracuse Return as Insurance Trade Show Keynote Speaker

One of the greatest athletes in Syracuse University history was back in town on Tuesday as a keynote speaker.  Donovan McNabb spoke at the Central New York Insurance Trade Show.

The show was held at the OnCenter Convention Center.  McNabb made parallels from the boardroom to the football field.

He also spoke to the media afterward and mingled with guests.  The assembled press asked McNabb about many football topics, including current Orange football head coach Scott Shafer, Chip Kelly’s future with the Philadelphia Eagles, and his chances of being inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

McNabb is one of the more electrifying players in recent memory.  He started for four years at Syracuse, compiling a 35-14 record and being named Big East Offensive Player of the Year three times.

The Eagles would select him second overall in the 1999 NFL Draft, which set the franchise down a path of unparalleled success.  McNabb went to six Pro Bowls and led Philly to Super Bowl XXXIX.

He is the Eagles all-time leader in most significant passing categories as well as victories.  The franchise has inducted him into their Hall of Fame and retired his #5 jersey.

In retirement, McNabb has worked towards having a successful broadcasting career.  He has been an analyst for the NFL Network and FOX Sports.
