ESPN Analyst and Softball Legend Jessica Mendoza Makes Appearance in San Antonio

Jessica Mendoza's star is rising at ESPN and she has always been incredibly popular in the softball world.  Mendoza is making an appearance tonight that should get San Antonians excited.

She will be at Holly Spirit Catholic Chuch at 7 p.m. Tickets cost $15 in advance and $20 at the door.

Mendoza is being brought to town by the non-profit GoPLAYGirls, which encourages girls to participate in sports and fitness activities.  She will discuss her skyrocketing career and everything else happening in her life.

This month, ESPN announced that Mendoza would have a full-time place on their Sunday Night Baseball telecasts.  Last season, she became the first female analyst on a Major League Baseball game in the history of the network and also the first women in the history of the sport to be in the broadcast booth for a playoff game.

Mendoza has worked for ESPN for several years and compiled one of the greatest playing careers in softball.  She was arguably the top hitter on the 2004 gold medal U.S. Olympic team and 2008 silver medal squad.

Mendoza played professionally in the NPF as well and is one of the best athletes to ever come through Stanford University. She was a four-time All-American for the Cardinal and holds school records for batting average, hits, home runs, slugging percentage, runs, and stolen bases.
