Former Big League Pitcher Tommy John Keynotes the Elmira Pioneers Hot Stove Dinner

Tommy John has certainly lived a full baseball life. He will get to share stories from his career next month as the keynote speaker at the Elmira Pioneers Hot Stove Dinner.

The 3rd annual event takes place April 20th at 6:30 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Riverview. The Elmira Pioneers are a collegiate summer team that plays in the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League.

John will speak and also take part in a question and answer session. Individual tickets are $50 and that includes a VIP meet and greet along with the opportunity to get autographs from and photos with the former star pitcher.

John racked up 288 career victories, which ranks seventh among left-handers in baseball history. His name is also well-known for the revolutionary elbow procedure he had that is now commonplace in sports.

After Tommy John surgery, John went on to rack up over half of his total wins. He was a four-time All-Star and set a record by playing 26 major league seasons.

John pitched in the World Series in 1977, 1978 and 1981. Since retiring in 1989, he has held positions in broadcasting, coaching, speaking and business.
