Former Major League Manager Terry Collins Keynotes Niagara University First Pitch Dinner in February

Former major league manager Terry Collins is about to enter his first spring out of coaching in some time. He will fill his time with events like Niagara University's First Pitch Dinner. 

Collins is slated to speak at the event on February 3rd at the Four Points by Sheraton in Niagara Falls. The third annual dinner serves as the perfect opportunity to celebrate the past, present and future of the Purple Eagles baseball program. 

The event begins at 5:30 p.m. with a one-hour reception that is followed by dinner. Individual tickets are $65 and a table of ten is $550. 

Collins has unique ties to the area, beginning his professional playing career with Single-A Niagara Falls in 1971 and spending three seasons as manager of the Buffalo Bisons. He was inducted into the Buffalo Baseball Hall of Fame in 1992.

Collins is best known for his recent run as manager of the New York Mets. He piloted the club from 2011-17 and led them to the 2015 World Series. 

Collins has also had managerial stints with the Houston Astros and Anaheim Angels. He had a ten-year playing career in the minor leagues and also managed several minor league teams.
