Former NBA All-Star Sidney Moncrief Speaks at Arkansas Kiwanis Club Event

Five-time NBA All-Star Sidney Moncrief made his name in Arkansas.  On May 11th, Moncrief shared his time with the Kiwanis Club in Harrison.

He was the keynote speaker for their meeting at Harrison Country Club.  Moncrief was also a celebrity golfer in their four-person golf scramble that followed.

The Little Rock native helped revitalize Arkansas basketball and left school as the program’s all-time leading scorer.  His jersey is the only one to be retired in Razorbacks history.

Moncrief would go on to tremendous NBA success, mostly with the Milwaukee Bucks.  In addition to the All-Star selections, he won NBA Defensive Player of the Year honors in 1983 and 1984.

The Bucks retired his #4 jersey after a career that saw him score over 11,000 points.  In retirement, Moncrief has been a coach on the collegiate, D-League, and NBA levels in addition to doing broadcast work.
