Former NBA Big Man Olden Polynice Impacting Positive Change as Haitian Ambassador

Former NBA veteran Olden Polynice has become a positive force for change in his home nation of Haiti.  The country’s President has appointed him as a good will ambassador and business promoter.

Polynice is also representing the 31 Days Foundation to fight for the employment rights of the disabled.  He was originally born with a leg deformity that doctors said would prevent him from ever walking.

Polynice hopes his story of overcoming that disability can inspire others.  The Port-au-Prince native has already seen impact of his business work stimulating growth throughout the country.

During a 15-year NBA career, Polynice became on the most famous athletes to ever come out of Haiti.  He was the eighth overall pick of the 1987 NBA Draft and went on to play for five different NBA teams.

Polynice finished his career with over 8,000 points and 7,000 rebounds.  He was a useful rebounder and post scorer who helped the Los Angeles Clippers and Sacramento Kings each make their first playoff appearances in franchise history.

In addition to his work in Haiti, Polynice also trains basketball players in Southern California through his NEXTSTAR Basketball program.  He is a Fox Sports Radio NBA analyst as well.
