Former NBA Champ Derek Anderson Speaks at the Together We Cares Community Meeting

Former University of Kentucky Wildcat and NBA player Derek Anderson was the keynote speaker at the Together We Care’s Community Meeting on March 30 at 6 p.m. at the Ohio County Community Center. The basketball star delivered a great and insightful talk to the audience prior to this year’s Ohio County High School and Joe Van Roberts awards being given out to the winners. The event will be free to attend, and Anderson is talked about the inspiration in his life that led him to be both a NCAA and NBA champion in his career. In addition to playing hard on the court, he is also a very active humanitarian who likes to seek out projects to help out other people in challenging circumstances and time periods. 

The 2006 NBA Champion got his claim to fame through the basketball program at the University of Kentucky as they are ranked as one of the best schools in the country for the sport. Over the last 18 years in his career, Anderson has played for quite a few franchises such as the Cleveland Cavaliers, San Antonio Spurs, Miami Heat and Charlotte Bobcats. He was also one of the best players on the team, 

It was a real treat for the people who went to the Ohio County Community Center this past Monday, as they got to hear and get some great stories out of a many that many people are only limited to seeing through a television screen.
