Former NBA Star Ray Allen Opening Miami Organic Fast-Food Restaurant

Ray Allen has made his last NBA stop home.  The former Miami Heat standout plans to further invest in the city by opening an organic fast-food restaurant next month.

Allen is partnering with his wife Shannon to open "Grown" in South Miami at 8211 Dixie Highway.  The establishment will offer an organic breakfast, lunch and dinner with menu items priced anywhere from $4 to $18.

Their 1,900 square foot restaurant space will feature a drive-in, a rooftop garden and be made from environmentally responsible materials.  The idea was spawned from the Allens son's battle with Type 1 diabetes.

Allen built a career off of big shots and establishing himself as one of the greatest three-point marksmen in NBA history.  He is the all-time leader in both regular seasona and playoff three-pointers made.

The 10-time All-Star won NBA titles with the Heat and Boston Celtics.  In his second to last season, Allen hit a three in Game 6 of the NBA Finals against the San Antonio Spurs that forced overtime and extended the series, which Miami ultimately won.

Allen also starred for the Milwaukee Bucks and Seattle Sonics early in his career, picking up an All-NBA team recognition while with each franchise.  The Bucks originally made him the fifth overall pick in the 1996 NBA Draft out of UCONN, where he was a first-team All-American and Big East Player of the Year as a senior.
