Former NBA Stars Dikembe Mutombo, Muggsy Bogues, and Ron Harper Make Vancouver Appearance

A trio of ex-NBA stars are invading Vancouver to promote the league.  Dikembe Mutombo, Muggsy Bogues, and Ron Harper will be participating in the NBA All-Star event series on January 22nd and 23rd.

Activities include the NBA All-Star Kidsfest and the NBA All-Star Challenge.  There will be lessons from official team dancers, a Junior NBA Clinic, a community art project, and much more.

At the NBA All-Star Challenge, participants will compete in a 3-point shootout, dunk contest, and skills challenge.  Those who qualify in each event will win an all-expenses paid trip to Toronto.

Mutombo is a Basketball Hall of Famer and one of the greatest defensive players in league history.  He won the NBA Defensive Player of the Year trophy four times and was an eight-time All-Star.

Despite being just 5’3”, Bogues electrified crowds for 15 seasons and is the Charlotte Hornets all-time leader in assists, steals, and minutes played.  He also had a standout college career and has his #14 jersey retired at Wake Forest.

Harper was one of the best winners to ever hit the court.  He won five NBA championships and was a key role player on dynastic teams with the Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers.
