Former NFL Great Randy Moss Attends HIgh School Graduation of His Number One Fan

Former NFL star wide receiver Randy Moss kept his word Friday night on an act of kindness years in the making.  Moss attended the high school graduation of a girl named Katie Spier that he originally met while she was two years old and he was a rookie with the Minnesota Vikings.

Through the years, he kept close with Spier as she dealt with a leukemia diagnosis, losing her father in a car accident, and the more recent reemergence of her cancer in the form of a brain tumor.  All along she was one of Moss’ biggest fans and he got to hand out her diploma from Pelican Rapids High School in Minnesota.

The relationship that has spanned over 15 years is just one of the good stories about star athletes in a sea of negative headlines that get more press.  While known by many for his amazing football feats, Moss has always had a love for kids.

While Spier had a personal relationship with her favorite player, he certainly had legions of fans over a 14-year career.   Moss was a four-time first-team All-Pro and seven-time Pro Bowler.

His 157 receiving touchdowns are second in NFL history and his 15,292 yards rank sixth.  Moss spent his first seven electrifying seasons in Minnesota, but had a season for the ages in 2007 with the New England Patriots.

Teaming up with Tom Brady, he set an NFL single-season record with 23 touchdown grabs.  That season, he went to his first Super Bowl and helped the Patriots to a perfect record leading into the game.

Moss would make a final Super Bowl appearance with the San Francisco 49ers in his last season.  He currently is a popular football analyst for FOX Sports.
