Former NFL Linebacker Channing Crowder Announces Third Annual Bass Fishing Tournament

Once known for his ferocity on the football field, former Miami Dolphins linebacker Channing Crowder is now one of South Florida's most entertaining radio personalities.  With a voice clearly engrained in the market, Crowder has set about hosting a fishing tournament each year to benefit The Boys & Girls Club of Broward County.

The 3rd Annual Channing Crowder Bass Fishing Tournament takes place on January 30th at Everglades Holiday Park.  A Weigh-In Party at Alligator Ron Bergeron’s Green Glades Ranch will follow the day of fishing.

A $10,000 grand prize along with other cash prizes will be awarded during the party that also features food, entertainment, and a live and silent auction.  Anglers can register for the tournament for a $250 boat entry fee and sponsorship packages start at $2,500.

Proceeds from the event will benefit BCGBC's NFL YET Lester H. White Club.   Additionally, the organization will also host the Youth Bass FIshing Experience at CB Smith Park for Boys & Girls Club attendees the day before the tournament.

Crowder has remained a prominent figure on the Miami sports scene in retirement as co-host of 560 WQAM's afternoon drive program, Hochman, Crowder, and Krantz.  He carries the same drive for exellence on the airwaves that once drove him to a standout career on the gridiron.

After being a third round selection of the Dolphins in 2005 NFL Draft, Crowder played his entire six-year career with the franchise.  He started 74 games and recorded 469 tackles.

Crowder is also well known in the Sunshine State for starring collegiately at the University of Florida.  He was a two-time first-team All-SEC pick and a one-time first-team All-American for the Gators.
