Former NFL Safety Kerry Rhodes Returns to Bessemer, Alabama for Football Camp

With Bessemer, Alabama native Jameis Winston recently being the top pick in the NFL Draft, the city has been at the center of the football world.  Another hometown son with pro football roots returns this week to host his camp.

Former NFL safety Kerry Rhodes headlines the Every Kid Deserves a Chance Football Camp this Saturday.  It runs from 9 a.m-12 p.m. at Snitz Snyder Memorial Stadium.

For $10, children from the ages of 6-14 can come learn the fundamentals of the game.  The camp is being put on in conjunction with the Bessemer Community Football Coaches.

Rhodes had a very successful eight-year NFL career.  In just his second season, he became an All-Pro.

While playing for both the New York Jets and Arizona Cardinals, Rhodes racked up 23 career interceptions.  The Jets originally drafted him in the fourth round out of Louisville.

When he got to college, Rhodes was originally a quarterback.  He starred at the position for Jess Lanier High School in Bessemer.
