Former NFL Star Reggie Wayne Keynotes IndyStar Sports Awards This Spring

This spring, the IndyStar Sports Awards will honor the region's best student-athletes. They also have the privilege of bringing back one of Indianapolis' sports heroes, former Colts wide receiver Reggie Wayne.

Wayne is the keynote speaker for the event that takes place April 29th at Clowes Memorial Hall. There will be 28 awards handed out including the Male and Female Athletes of the Year. 

Fall sports nominees were recently released. General admission tickets for $23 are currently on sale. 

Wayne spent his entire 14-year career with the Colts after being selected in the first round of the 2001 NFL Draft out the University of Miami. He currently ranks seventh in NFL history in receptions, ninth in receiving yards and 23rd in touchdown catches. 

Wayne holds the Indianapolis franchise record for games played. He was selected to six Pro Bowls and was a three-time All-Pro. 

Wayne caught a touchdown and helped the Colts win Super Bowl XLI. A year later, he had a career-high 1,510 receiving yards which led the NFL.
