Former Seahawks Corner Marcus Trufant Makes Training Camp Appearance to Promote Talking Rain

Marcus Trufant was a force to be reckoned with during his time as a cornerback for the Seattle Seahawks.  With his watchful eye on the quarterback, Trufant wrapped up wide receivers and paved the way for the franchise’s “Legion of Boom” defense.

On Wednesday, Trufant was engaging in another type of thrill-seeking endeavor.  In an effort to promote the Seahawks new partnership with Talking Rain Beverage Company, he skydived onto the Seattle practice field in front of over 2,500 fans just prior to the beginning of training camp for the day.

As part of the multi-year partnership, Talking Rain and SPARKLING ICE products will get Seahawks branding and be the official sparkling water sponsors of the team.  Trufant’s radio station, 710 ESPN, will also participate in the deal with weekly contests.

Trufant played ten seasons with the Seahawks and was a first-team All-Pro and Pro Bowl selection in 2007.  He also helped Seattle go to the Super Bowl in 2005 and was named to the organization’s 35th Anniversary Team.

The Seahawks originally selected Trufant with the 11th pick in the 2003 NFL Draft out of Washington State.  The Tacoma native was a star for the Cougars, earning first-team All-Pac-10 and second-team All-American honors in 2002.

Currently, Trufant co-hosts The Barbershop on 710 and presides over the Trufant Family Foundation.  He runs TRU Associates, a self-storage and real estate company as well.
