Former South Carolina Head Coach Brad Scott Closes Orangeburg Touchdown Club

Brad Scott has a great legacy of coaching football in the state of South Carolina. That made him an ideal choice as the final speaker of the year for the Orangeburg Touchdown Club.

Scott also has the added credentials of being the father of current Clemson co-offensive coordinator, Jeff Scott. He was introduced by South Carolina State head coach Buddy Pough at the event hosted at The Cinema.

Scott talked at length about the history of the Tigers program and the current team. Several local student-athletes were honored.

Scott got his first coaching opportunity in South Carolina as a graduate assistant at The Citadel in 1981. He went on to be a member of Bobby Bowden's Florida State coaching staff for 11 years before landing back in the state as the head coach at the University of South Carolina in 1994.

Scott led the Gamecocks to their first bowl win in school history during his first season. He coached at USC for five years and posted two winning seasons.

Scott was on the Clemson staff from 1998-2011. He was the associate head coach in addition to coaching offensive line from 2008-11.
