Former WNBA Star Ruthie Bolton Keynote Top Ten Professional Women and Leading Business Awards in October

Ruthie Bolton played her entire WNBA career in Northern California. This fall, she is keynoting an event in Fresno and sharing her disturbing experience with domestic violence. 

Bolton will speak at the 34th annual Top Ten Professional Women and Leading Business Awards. The event takes place on October 13th at the Fresno Convention Center. 

The awards ceremony is hosted by the Marjaree Mason Center and over 1,000 people are expected to attend. Bolton hopes her story helps others and empowers women facing what she did. 

After leaving Auburn University, Bolton was the Sacramento Monarchs first star. During the WNBA's inaugural season, she was named a first-team All-WNBA pick. 

Bolton played seven seasons with the franchise and was a WNBA All-Star in 1999 and 2001. She was also a longtime member of Team USA and won Olympic gold medals in 1996 and 2000. 

After retiring in 2005, Bolton coached at the high school and collegiate level. She has also participated in the U.S. Department of State's SportsUnited Sports Envoy program.
