Four-Time All-Star Dwight Gooden Holds Autograph Signing at Minor League Baseball Game August 19th

The mystique of feats accomplished by Dwight Gooden still lives on three decades later. There will undoubtedly be a huge crowd in attendance when he makes an appearance later this month at a Potomac Nationals game.

He will be holding a meet and greet and autograph signing on August 19th. The autograph line will form immediately when the gates open at 5 p.m. at Pfitzner Stadium.

Gooden will hold signing sessions from 5:15-6:00 p.m. and 6:30-8:00 p.m. In between, he will throw out the ceremonial first pitch prior to the P-Nats game against the Winton-Salem Dash.

Gooden spent 16 years in the big leagues and is best known for the first decade of his career that he spent with the New York Mets. He won 17 games and led the league in strikeouts in his first year on the way to winning National League Rookie of the Year honors.

The next year, Gooden won baseball's pitching Triple Crown and the NL Cy Young Award. He helped the Mets win the World Series in 1986 and made the third of his four All-Star appearances.

Gooden pitched for the franchise until 1994 and went across town to join the New York Yankees in 1996. He won two more World Series with the Yankees and threw a no-hitter in 1996.
