Four-Time Olympian Joetta Clark Diggs Named Keynote Speaker at East Stroudsburg University's MLK Breakfast

With a background in lecturing and motivational speaking, four-time Olympian Joetta Clark Diggs was the perfect choice to serve as the keynote speaker for East Stroudsburg Unversity's Martin Luther King Jr. celebration breakfast.  The breakfast will be held on January 18th at 8 a.m. at the Mattioli Recreation Center on the campus of the Pennslyvania school.

The breakfast costs $40 for faculty and people from the community.  Students can attend for a reduced rate of $15.

Proceeds will benefit the Gertrude Mary Smith Boddie Scholarship Fund.  The endowed scholarship was established in 2004 to honor the first student of color that graduated from East Stroudsburg.

Clark Diggs is an ultimate American success story.  She ran the 800 meters in four straight Olympic Games from 1988-2000 and is considered one of the great middle-distance runners in U.S. history.

In 2000, Clark Diggs was bestowed the honor of captaining the U.S. women's Olympic team.  Some of her other career highlights include induction into the U.S. Track and Field, the University of Tennessee, and the New Jersey Halls of Fame.

Today, she works to improve the fitness habits of children through her Joetta Clark Diggs Sports Foundation.  Clark Diggs also travels around the country spreading her message of empowerment and diversity.
