Golden State Warriors' Star Stephen Curry Takes Home MVP Honors

In addition to those impressive numbers, his 91.4 percent success rate from the free throw line was also the best in the league.  Curry got off to a hot start on the year, winning NBA Player of the Month honors in October/November as his Golden State Warriors started out 14-2.

The Warriors ended up winning 67 games and are currently a favorite to make it out of the Western Conference to the NBA Finals.  Wilt Chamberlin is the only other MVP in team history from when he took the award in 1959-60 while the franchise in Philadelphia.

Curry has also had a productive year off the court.  His first signature shoe, the Under Armour Curry 1’s dropped in February.

Some of his other endorsements include Degree, Express, and State Farm.  Curry’s jersey has been the NBA’s top seller since January according to Fanatics and the three-point marksman also led the way in All-Star votes.

After his most recent appearance, Curry is now a two time All-Star.  This year, he won the Foot Locker Three-Point Contest during All-Star Weekend as well.

The Warriors originally selected Curry with the seventh overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft.  With six seasons in Golden State in the books, one can only expect that the best is yet to come.
