Hall of Famer Rick Barry to Make Appearance at Indian Reservation Fundraiser

One of the greatest shooters in basketball history will be lending his time to a great cause.  Basketball Hall of Famer Rick Barry will be in Rapid City, South Dakota on September 6th to support the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation.

Barry will attend a fundraiser, take photos, and sign autographs for those in attendance from 8:00-9:30 p.m.  Tickets cost $50 for adults and $20 for children with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the Thunder Valley Community Development Corporation.

Between his time in the ABA and NBA, Barry accumulated over 25,000 points.  He made 12 combined All-Star teams and was an all-league first team pick nine times.

Barry scored at will in the early days of the renegade ABA.  His 30.5 points per game over his career in the league is a pro basketball record.

Barry is best known for his time with the Golden State Warriors, who he won a title with and NBA Finals MVP honors in 1975.  His #24 is retired by the franchise.

In 1996, Barry was named to the NBA’s 50th Anniversary Team.  He has remained active in basketball through broadcasting and watching two sons play in the league and also transition into the commentating business.
