Iconic College Football Broadcaster Keith Jackson Speaks at Pasadena Quarterbacks Club Friday

Keith Jackson was the voice of college football for an entire generation. On Friday, there will be an excited crowd to see the iconic broadcaster when he speaks at the Pasadena Quarterbacks Club. 

The event takes place at the groups' usual meeting place, the University Club in Pasadena, California. Jackson turns 89 this week and he will celebrate his birthday with the club. 

Doors open for the luncheon at 11:30 a.m and RSVPs are required. The price of admission is $25 for basic members and $30 for guests. 

Jackson spent four decades with ABC Sports and was best known for his work as the network's lead play-by-play voice. He became known for several iconic catchphrases and is credited with naming the Rose Bowl "The Grandaddy of Them All" and Michigan Stadium "The Big House." 

Jackson also was involved in the coverage of professional football and was ABC's first play-by-play voice for Monday Night Football in 1970. He worked ten Summer and Winter Olympic Games. 

The Rose Bowl's Broadcast Center is named in Jackson's honor and he is a member of the Rose Bowl Hall of Fame. He is also in the American Sportscasters Association Hall of Fame and the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Hall of Fame.
