Kentucky Basketball Legend Kenny Walker Speaks to Local Rotary Club

One Kentucky Wildcats great will be in Erlanger, Kentucky next week giving a speech to the Rotary Club of Kenton County.  Kenny “Sky” Walker will share tales from his college and pro career.

Walker will appear at the club’s luncheon that starts at noon at Colonial Cottage Inn.  Seating reservations cost $12.00 and can be placed by contacting Carol Margrave at 859-240-8227.

Walker has stayed true to his Kentucky roots, currently serving as a pre and postgame co-host for Wildcats basketball on WVLK in Lexington.  As a collegian, he was a four-time All-SEC pick and two-time All-American.

UK reached the Final Four during Walker’s sophomore campaign.  He followed that year up with back-to-back SEC Player of the Year seasons.

The New York Knicks selected Walker fifth in the 1986 NBA Draft.  He would thrill Knicks fans in the late 1980s with his high-flying acrobatics and took home the 1989 Slam Dunk Contest title.

In addition to his time with the Knicks, Walker spent several years playing overseas and also had a pair of seasons with the Washington Bullets.
