Legendary Baseball Broadcaster Marty Brennaman Speaks at Fearless Frontline Leader Awards

This week, legendary Cincinnati Reds broadcaster Marty Brennaman got to honor a special group of individuals.  Brennaman was the featured speaker at the 2015 Fearless Frontline Leader Awards, which were held at Great American Ballpark.

The Fearless Frontline Leader Awards celebrates top workers in the manufacturing industry.  Individuals were chosen from around the country to attend and participate in a variety of fun activities.

In addition to hearing Brennaman speak, the event featured a cocktail hour on the baseball diamond, tour of the park, and batting practice in the Reds’ batting cages.  Many other professionals from the manufacturing industry turned out to recognize the award winners and partake in the festivities.

Brennaman has been the radio play-by-play voice of the Reds since 1974.  He received the highest honor bestowed upon a baseball broadcaster, the Ford C. Frick Award, in 2000.

Brennaman also gained notoriety for his longtime partnership in the broadcast booth with former Cincinnati pitcher Joe Nuxhall.  His trademark call of, “And this one belongs to the Reds!” greets fans after every victory.

Brennaman has been named Ohio Sportscaster of the Year 12 times and Virginia Sportscaster of the Year four times for his pre-Reds work.  The broadcasting legacy has continued in his family, as his son Thom has been a national baseball voice for FOX Sports.
