Legendary FSU Football Coach Bobby Bowden Speaks at Mount Dora Christian Gala Saturday

Mount Dora Christian Gala brought in another big name from the world of football on Saturday. Legendary FSU coach Bobby Bowden spoke at the event that was held outside Orlando, Florida. 

Festivities began at 7 p.m. at MDCA's Brackett Gymnasium. Bowden talked about how faith and football have played an instrumental role in his life. 

Several of Bowden's former players also attended the gala. Tickets ranged in price from $10 for balcony seats to $250 for a VIP package. 

Bowden was the head coach at Florida State for 34 years and compiled a 304-97-4 record. He led the Seminoles to National Championships in 1993 and 1999. 

Under Bowden's watch, FSU finished in the top 5 for 14 consecutive seasons and won 12 Atlantic Coast Conference titles. Prior to building the Seminoles program, Bowden was the head coach at West Virginia for six years. 

Bowden also held head coaching posts at South Georgia State College and Howard. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2006.
