Legendary Georgia Football Coach Vince Dooley Holds Nashville Book Signing

The Georgia Bulldogs scored a big 45-14 victory over Vanderbilt Saturday afternoon. The victory celebration was enhanced for those UGA fans in Nashville by attending a book signing with legendary coach Vince Dooley.

Dooley was on hand from 5-7 p.m. at the Tennessee Bank and Trust. The event was put together by the UGA Alumni Chapter in Nashville.

In addition to signing books, Dooley also posed for photos with fans. There was a rabid base of Bulldogs supporters in attendance, many meeting the coach for the first time.

Dooley was the Georgia head coach for 25 seasons and compiled a 201-77-10 record. The Bulldogs won six Southeastern Conference championships and the 1980 national title under his watch.

Dooley was also a five-time SEC Coach of the Year. In addition to his lengthy tenure as head coach, he spent time as the school's athletic director from 1979-2004.

Dooley began his coaching career as an assistant at his alma mater, Auburn. He is a member of the College Football Hall of Fame, Georgia Sports Hall of Fame and the Florida-Georgia Hall of Fame.
