Lou Holtz Heads Back to South Bend to Speak at a Charity Luncheon

The legendary college football coach Lou Holtz will speak on July 31st in the city that he experienced his greatest success.  “Lunch with Lou” will be held in South Bend, Indiana at the Century Center.

Tickets for the luncheon are $60 and the proceeds benefit a trio of local charities, Big Brothers Big Sisters of St. Joseph’s County, the South Bend Education Foundation, and Mentoring Matters.  Registration and further information about the event can be found at lunchwithlou.org.

Holtz led Notre Dame to their last national championship in 1988.  He went 100-30-2 overall in 11 seasons with the Fighting Irish and finished the season ranked in the top five four times.

No other coach has taken six different teams to bowl games or coached as many as four separate programs that finished the season ranked in the top 20.  For his tremendous accomplishments at an array of schools, Holtz was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2008.

Since retiring from coaching in 2004, he has filled his time with broadcasting work and a busy schedule of speaking engagements.  Holtz is beloved nationally for his affable personality and inspirational messages.
