NBA All Star Kyle Lowry Lands Endorsement with Retailer Sport Chek

The Toronto Raptors and NBA All-Player Kyle Lowry has been officially announced as an endorser for the Toronto Raptors’ sports store, Sport Chek, for the next two years.

The NBA point guard has been playing in the league since 2006 when he was selected as the 24th overall pick. So far in his career he has played for the Memphis Grizzlies, Houston Rockets, and Toronto Raptors where he currently has a four year contract as of last year. On January 5, 2015 Lowry received the Eastern Conference Player of the Month for December 2014 which has only been given to him and one other Raptor, Chris Bosh.

Earlier this month the leader of Toronto’s three-point field goals was announced to play in the 2015 NBA All-Star game in New York City where he played alongside LeBron James, John Wall, Pau Gasol, and Carmelo Anthony.

Lowry made his first big endorsement deal with a Canadian franchise just before he participated in the NBA All-Star Weekend events. Senior Vice-President of Sport Chek’s parent company Duncan Fulton said that they had chosen Lowry for the deal because he is an inspiration to children and feels that his image can increase Canada’s participation with basketball. He is known as both a hard worker and leader on and off the basketball court, which is why he will also be the face of Sport Chek’s #MyNorth campaign that was launched last year and designed to bring together nine of Toronto’s neighborhoods.
