New Ohio State Basketball Coach Chris Holtmann Speaks at USA Basketball’s Cleveland Coach Academy

As the new man leading Ohio State basketball, Chris Holtmann has been making the rounds to get exposure for his program. On August 6th, he was the guest speaker at USA Basketball's Cleveland Coach Academy.

The event was held at St. Edward High School. Holtmann shared with the nearly 200 coaches in attendance keys to running a successful transition offense.

He also made a point to tell the assembled coaches that the Ohio State program has an open door policy. He was followed by Cleveland State head coach Dennis Felton.

Holtmann was the head coach at Butler for three seasons. He led them to the NCAA Tournament each time and made it to the Sweet Sixteen this past spring.

Holtmann was also named the Big East Coach of the Year and the John McLendon National Coach of the Year last year. Before taking over as the Bulldogs head coach, he was on the staff as an assistant for one season.

Holtmann had previously been a head coach at Gardner-Webb for three seasons. He led the team to the CIT in his final year and was named Big South Coach of the Year.
