New York Yankees Outfielder Matt Holliday Speaks at Men’s Breakfast Next Month

There are scores of New York Yankees fans just to the west of The Big Apple in New Providence, New Jersey. Some of them will certainly be assembled when Yankees outfielder Matt Holliday comes to speak next month.

Holliday is participating in the Presbyterian Church at New Providence's Men's Breakfast. The event takes place September 16th from 7-9 a.m.

Holliday will speak about how his successful baseball career is secondary in his life to his walk with God. It is free to attend, but registration is required in advance.

Holliday is spending his first year in New York and is known for the success he has had in the playoffs. He was the MVP of the 2007 National League Championship Series, helping the Colorado Rockies make their first World Series appearance.

That season, Holliday won the NL batting championship, led the league in RBI and made the second of three straight All-Star teams. He went on to make four All-Star trips with the St. Louis Cardinals.

Holliday won a World Series with the Cardinals in 2011 after hitting .435 in the NLCS. To date, he has collected over 2,000 hits and 300 home runs in his career.
