Olympic Gold Medalist Misty Hyman Makes Appearance at Loveland Swim Club

American Olympic champion Misty Hyman may have experienced her crowning achievement 15 years ago, but she is still giving back in the swimming community.  On Saturday, Hyman spoke and ran clinics at the Loveland Swim Club in Colorado.

She came out due to a relationship with one of her former coaches, Jim Nickell, who runs the club.  Hyman spoke about adversity and goal-setting to kick things off.

Then, she ran several two-hour clinics during the day geared at all different age groups.  Hyman signed autographs and leant out her gold medal for pictures.

Hyman was one of the U.S. heroes of the 2000 Olympics in Sydney.  The underdog won gold in the 200-meter butterfly, setting an Olympic record in the process.

Since retirement from competition, she has continued to train high school swimmers and others privately.  Hyman is based in Phoenix, Arizona.
