Pantene Makes UFC Star Ronda Rousey Newest Brand Ambassador

As UFC star Ronda Rousey gears up for her return to the Octagon, she has agreed to a deal with a new endorsement partner. She is the newest brand ambassador for the hair products company, Pantene.

Rousey will be featured in Pantene's "Don't Hate Me Because I'm Strong." She will be featured across television, digital and print ads for the brand.

The marketing push is an homage to Pantene's tagline from the 1980s, "Don't Hate Me Because I'm Beautiful." Rousey is just the latest in an impressive list of endorsers for the company that includes recording artist Selena Gomez.

Rousey is arguably the biggest name associated with mixed martial arts. After over a year layoff, she will face Amanda Nunes with the Woman's Bantamweight Title on the line at UFC 207 later this month.

Rousey won the first 12 professional fights of her career before losing to Holly Holm last November. She was the UFC's first female champion and successfully defended her belt six times.

In 2008, Rousey first registered on some radars by becoming the first American woman to medal in judo at the Olympics. She has since become a crossover phenom, appearing as an action star in several films in addition to her fighting prowess.
