Pelicans Guard Eric Gordon Heads Home to Indiana for Basketball Camp

Indiana native and current New Orleans Pelican Eric Gordon is heading back to the state where it all started to host his basketball camp.  Gordon will run the two-day event from June 22-23 at McMillan Park Center in Fort Wayne.

The camp will run from 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. each day with lunch in between.  Staff from the E3 Basketball Academy and the Fort Wayne Sports Commission will evaluate campers from the ages of 4-16.

Early registration is $150 per camper.  More information can be found at www.fortwaynesportscorp.com

Gordon first gained great notoriety as a basketball star at North Central High School in Indianapolis before winning Big 10 Freshman of the Year honors at Indiana University in 2008.  He was a McDonald’s All-American and Indiana’s Mr. Basketball as a senior at North Central.

In 2008, Gordon was the seventh pick of the NBA Draft to the Los Angeles Clippers.  Through seven seasons in the league, he has averaged 16.8 points per game.

Gordon got his first taste of playoff basketball with the Pelicans this past season.  He scored 18.5 points per game in New Orleans’ first round loss to the Golden State Warriors.
