Penn State Selects Former NFL Offensive Lineman John Urschel for Speaker Series

The Penn State Forum Speaker Series is bringing in several unique commentators beginning September 20th. One of them is a former Nittany Lions football alum, John Urschel

Urschel is one of the more thoughtful football minds and he will present on February 20th. The title of his talk is "Order and Chaos" and it takes place at the Ballroom at the Nittany Lions Inn.

Each of the luncheons are held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m on the University Park campus. There will be a presentation followed by audience questions.

Urschel recently retired from the NFL due to concerns related the long-term effects of CTE. He spent three seasons with the Baltimore Ravens and was a part-time starter on the offensive line.

Urschel was known as much for his success in the classroom as his standout play on the field during his time at Penn State. He holds both a bachelor's and master's degree in mathematics from the school and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. from MIT.

Urschel was a two-time first-team All-Big Ten pick as well. He is currently an Advanced Stats Columnist for The Players' Tribune.
