Philadelphia Eagles Quarterback Matt McGloin Speaks at Penn State Alumni Association Meeting July 11th

Matt McGloin defied the odds to put together one of the most meaningful careers in Penn State football history. The Nittany Lions fan favorite will be back speaking to his base at a special event on July 11th.

McGloin is making his appearance at the Hazleton Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association's annual business meeting dinner. The event is being held at Sand Springs in Drums.

A meet and greet takes place from 6-7 p.m. and it is followed by dinner. Tickets are $30 for members and $35 for non-members with all proceeds benefiting the Greater Hazleton Chapter Academic Award and Penn State Hazleton.

McGloin was a three-year starter at quarterback for Penn State from 2010-12. He became the first walk-on starter under center since scholarships were reinstituted in 1949.

McGloin ended his Nittany Lions career ranked first in passing touchdowns and second in passing yards. As a senior, he led the Big Ten and set a new school single-season record with 270 completions.

The Oakland Raiders signed McGloin as an undrafted free agent and he started six games in his 2013 rookie season. After spending the first four years of his NFL career in Oakland, he signed with the Philadelphia Eagles this offseason.
