Redskins Receiver Pierre Garcon Opens His Second SpinFire Pizza Tuesday

Washington Redskins wide receiver Pierre Garcon is also a budding restaurateur.  Tuesday night, Garcon is opening his second SpinFire Pizza location at 1501 Wilson Blvd in Arlington, Virginia.

A 900-degree oven at SpinFire makes custom pizzas crafted from 30 different topping options in 90 seconds.  Other menu items include salads and calzones.

Garcon’s first restaurant opened in Ashburn, Virginia in October.  He has future franchise plans that include expansion into the Washington D.C. metro area.

The wide receiver about to enter his eighth season in the NFL is a top receiving option for Redskins’ quarterback Robert Griffin III.  In 2013, Garcon set a franchise record with 113 catches and also accumulated 1,346 yards.

Garcon rose to prominence as a target of Peyton Manning’s after being a sixth round draft pick of the Indianapolis Colts in 2008.  He came out of little known Mount Union College, where he was a two-time Division III All-American.

The Haitian-American also has significantly more going on off the field than his business interests.  The Pierre Garcon Helping Hands Foundation was established in 2010 to originally help with earthquake relief in Haiti and it continues to impact Haitians everywhere.
