RootsTech Names Olympic Gold Medalist Scott Hamilton Keynote Speaker for 2018 Conference

Scott Hamilton is one of America's modern Olympic heroes. That has led to a multitude of opportunities, with the latest being his appointment as the keynote speaker for RootsTech 2018. 

The event is one of the top events in the world that addresses family genealogy. It takes place February 28th through March 3rd in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Hamilton had a dazzling career in figure skating that culminated with winning a gold medal in men's singles at the 1984 Olympics. He also won four straight U.S. and World Championships from 1981-84. 

Hamilton originally made his Olympic debut in 1980, but finished in fifth place. After 1984, he turned professional and became well-known for his appearances on tour with groups like the Ice Capades. 

Hamilton was inducted into the United States Olympic Hall of Fame in 1990. He is currently a top broadcaster for the sports and serves on the board of Special Olympics International.
