Running Back DeAngelo Williams Leads Group of Steelers Signing Autographs for United Way

Several members of the Pittsburgh Steelers took time out of their busy schedules this week to sign autographs for a good cause.  The players, led by breakout running back DeAngelo Williams, made an appearance Monday at a Pittsburgh-area Dick's Sporting Goods to sign on behalf of the United Way fitUnited program.

Williams headlined the 7-8:00 p.m. session and was joined by teammates Stephon Tuitt and Ryan Shazier.  Wide receiver Martavis Bryant signed with Arthur Moats and Chris Boswell during the 6-7:00 p.m. period.

Wristbands for each session cost $25 and were limited to a guarantee of 225 people per group.  The United Way fitUnited program works exclusively on improving the health of youth in Allegheny County.

Following a season-ending injury to Steelers star running back Le'Veon Bell, Williams has picked up the slack.  With one week in the regular season to go, he has 899 yards rushing and 11 touchdowns.

2015 is already Williams' best season since the 2009 campaign.  Prior to joining Pittsburgh, he spent the first nine seasons of his career with the Carolina Panthers and produced back-to-back 1,000 yard seasons with the franchise from 2008-09.

In addition to his work with the United Way, Williams also is closely associated with the Susan G. Komen Foundation.  His mother died from breast cancer in 2014 and four aunts have also been affected by the disease.
