Syracuse Basketball Coach Jim Boeheim Speaks at Rotary Club of DeWitt October 24th

The Rotary Club of DeWitt is scheduled to get a preview of the Syracuse basketball season next week.  On October 24th, Orange coach Jim Boeheim will address the group.

Boeheim will take part in the club's monthly luncheon in East Syracuse at Traditions at the Links.  The event starts at noon and tickets to attend are $20.

There will be posters signed by Boeheim and players that can be purchased at the lunch.  All proceeds from those sales and tickets bought will go to The Jim and Juli Boeheim Foundation.

Entering the season, Boeheim is ninth all-time among Division 1 coaches with 888 wins.  He has taken Syracuse to 28 NCAA Tournaments and three national title games.

In 2003, Boeheim and the Orange won the championship over Kansas.  The program also won the Big East Conference regular season crown eight times and came up victorious in the postseason tournamet on five occasions.

Boeheim has been an assistant coach for the U.S. men's basketball team at the last three Olympics.  He was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2005.
