The NBA's First Legally Deaf Player, Lance Allred, Starts Motivational Speaking Career

Many professional athletes stuggle with what to do upon retirement. For ten-year basketball veteran, Lance Allred, one particular career route seemed like a natural fit.

Allred has defied the odds throughout his life and became the first legally deaf player in the NBA in 2008.  He got into game action with the Cleveland Cavaliers between two consecutive D-League All-Star appearances.

In addition, he played for a decade overseas.  Allred was an All-Big Sky choice from his college days with Weber State.

His journey through basketball is now part of his powerful motivational message.  Allred has actively started pursuing motivational speaking engagements and spoke over the weekend at the Salt Lake City Real Estate Investors Expo.

He has many topics to discuss in speeches, including his top converstion, “The Longshot”.  Allred also discusses “Getting the Most Out of Your Team as a Leader”, “7 Marks of a Leader”, “The Impossible Team”, and “Little Giant”.

In concert with his unusual road to pro basketball success, Allred can also speak to the obstacles of depression and bullying.  These are things he experienced during a difficult upbringing that forced his family to flee a polygamist Mormon commune when he was 13 years old.

Allred will truly dazzle any audience with any one of his presentations.  He will also leave the crowd with lessons to take back and apply on the lives or businesses.
