Three-Time NBA Champion Bruce Bowen Speaks at Cal State Fullerton Basketball Fundraiser

The Cal State Fullerton men's basketball program welcomed back one of their most accomplished alums. Three-time NBA champion Bruce Bowen spoke at a fundraiser dinner on November 5th.

The event was held in Titan Gym and hosted by another former player, Cedric Ceballos. Bowen told stories from his basketball career and talked about how important character and hard work was to his success.

Supporters of the program also got to mingle with Titans players. There was a silent auction and Ceballos auctioned off signed jerseys from Bowen, Kobe Bryant and James Harden

Bowen was one of the great defensive players of his generation. After going undrafted in 1993, he had to play overseas before finding a home in the NBA.

Bowen had a breakout campaign and was named to his first NBA All-Defensive Team with the Miami Heat in 2001. He signed with the San Antonio Spurs that offseason and was named to the first or second All-Defensive Team each of the next seven seasons.

Bowen also won three NBA championships with the Spurs. He retired in 2009 and has been a commentator for ESPN before taking his current role as a color analyst with the Los Angeles Clippers.
